Therapy balls, also known as medicine balls or Chinese iron balls, are one of the famed “three treasures” of Baoding, China and have been used as relaxation and meditation aids since the Ming Dynasty.
To use them, the balls should be placed in one’s palm and then rotated around each other, utilizing the palm, finger, and forearm muscles. Each ball includes a sounding plate, allowing them to produce musical high- and low-pitched tones as they are rotated.
This activity is simultaneously engaging and relaxing and can contribute positively toward a meditative state.
